The False Creek South Neighbourhood
Association Planning Committee (Re*Plan) has been
diligently working on an effective approach to the
lease end and planning issues facing our community.
The committee is comprised of residents, your
neighbours and we are grateful to them for the many
hours and skills they are devoting to resolving
matters of great importance to all of us.
Their
Strategy Document is the roadmap for future work
within the community and with the City of Vancouver.
If you have any feedback or suggestions for Re*Plan,
please send them to Richard Evans, Chair of the
Re*Plan committee at

Walking Tour of
South False Creek
John Atkin led a group of False Creek
South residents on an interesting and quaint
tour of the south side of False Creek on
Sunday, October 14, 2012. Sponsored by the
False Creek South Neighbourhood Association,
the tour took participants on some of the
tiny public walkways and squares seldom seen
by visitors.
In addition
click here for a background paper on
South False Creek which touches on many of
the concepts that are central to an
understanding of the unique development of
False Creek South in the 1960s and 1970.
Many thanks to John Atkin and Peer Daniel
for their work on this tour.
False
Creek Sculpture Out for Repairs!
Garde-Temps has attracted a
great deal of positive feedback. We
look forward to its return.
You may have noticed
that the light-based sculpture
beneath the Cambie Street bridge has
disappeared. Don’t worry, it is
gone only temporarily.
Known as Garde-Temps,
the sculpture‘is a vessel for the
distorted appearance of the place
and the passersby, and emits moving
pictures oscillating between the
abstract and the figurative. Its
surface alternately shows images
captured by the nearby close circuit
thermal camera and a series of
pre-programmed patterns.’ (www.gardetemps.info/)
